As the prospects of a China-U.S. trade deal seems to change by the second, major U.S. stocks have swung back and forth in the past week, tumbling on Friday then regaining ground on Monday. The only certainty seems to be uncertainty. Meanwhile, development banks continue to fund projects in developing nations across the world. The New Development Bank was founded four years ago by the BRICS countries. It has approved more than nine billion U.S. dollars in loans and aims to double that number this year. The NDB is considered a newcomer compared to the World Bank, the IMF, and the Asian Development Bank. Despite a shorter resume, the NDB is using new models to stand out from the crowd.
